Characteristics
Unlike the ordinary Trichocereus bridgesii, the ‘Monstrosus‘ variant is characterized by its remarkable monstrosities in growth pattern, resulting in an irregular, curled and twisted trunk. This gives the cactus an almost alien and unique appearance. The cactus has a grey-green colour and can reach a height of about 1.5 meters. Although less common, the plant can also develop off-white flowers cactus flower.
Care
Like most cactus species, the Trichocereus bridgesii ‘Monstrosus’ requires minimal care. The plant prefers a sunny location and is very drought tolerant. It is advisable to plant the cactus in well-drained soil and to limit watering to prevent root rot. In colder months, the cactus can also be kept indoors, with a minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius recommended cactus flower.
